Blanche began singing onstage at the age of five, sitting in with jazz musicians at the family club on Clark Street. At nineteen it was blues rock, on Chicago.'s south side. As co-leader of Phil 'n' the Blanks, albums reached Top 10 on Cashbox charts,  videos made rotation on MTV and crowds formed around the block for many years to see her perfrom.  In Los Angeles, she founded alternative groups, Vibe Tribe and Paisley Blacke and played the Sunset Strip.

Turned on by some Chicago's great jazz artists, new song ideas flowered into a collection with a jazzy alternative flavor composed, performed and co- produced by Blanche., the CD  "Out To Sea".

Recorded  at Dr. Caw Recording, and engineered by Craig Williams, the project coalesced with the support of an esteemed group of musicians who give the album a genuine band feel. John Moulder on guitar, Rob Kassinger on bass, Jon Deitemyer on drums, Steve Eisen on saxophone, flute and congas and the great Bobby Lewis on trumpet and flugelhorn.

Vibrant performer and prolific songwriter, she is happy to showcase this new work at the Jazz Showcase and other venues.

Chris Spector, Midwest Record Review

"Synchronicity or what? I was organizing the basement last week and came across Blacke’s old power pop singles from when the world was young. Then along comes her transition to jazz vocalist finding her inner Sade. With the crème of t...he well traveled Chicago jazzbos backing her up, this set should be headed right for discovery sectors on all the top streaming services where it will prove to be a can’t miss. Using a distant but not detached vibe to get her message across, this is a smoking, contemporary jazz vocal date that’s not just right but right for the times and a sure bet to being younger ears into the tent right next to the moldy figs. Well done.'
